About Us

A SHORT HISTORY

Fountain of Life Christian Fellowship began when Bill Britton started having church meetings in the living room in his home on N. Grant Avenue in August of 1962. By January of 1964 we had outgrown the living room and moved to a storefront building on Commercial Street. In 1965 that space became too small and we moved to another storefront building on the corner of Lyon Avenue and High Street. In 1974, after nine years there, we moved to N Park Avenue. In 1996, we became House of Prayer dba Fountain of Life Christian Fellowship and in 2021 we moved to our current location on W. Mount Vernon Street.

During the time at Lyon and High we started Overcomer Teaching Center, a small Bible School that reached out to many who were saved during what is now known as the Jesus Revolution. OTC ministered to many Jesus People for over seven years. When we moved to N. Park Avenue we continued with OTC for a few years and started Park Avenue Christian School in the spring of 1978. PACS and PACS Homeschool ministered to thousands of children in our area for 40 years.

Our worship, doctrine and lives have, over the years, been influenced by the Azusa Street Outpouring, the Assemblies of God, the Latter Rain Movement from Canada, the Jesus People Movement and a myriad of other outpourings of the Holy Spirit both through movements and individual people. We are a Pentecostal/charismatic church that believes in the Baptism of the Spirit and that the Gifts of the Spirit are available for the church today.

On the first Sunday of 2022, we celebrated a new era in our ministry when we were joined by Iglesia Maná del Cielo who are now our Spanish Outreach Ministry. We are growing together to as one church celebrating two different cultures. Our desire is to express the culture of the Kingdom of God in a way that brings glory to God and growth to His Kingdom.
